The Challenge
The objective was to develop a flexible lighting concept for a conference area within Emily Resort that could adapt to different event formats, functional zones and user scenarios.
The project required not only general and decorative lighting, but also a dynamic system capable of changing color temperature, maintaining visual comfort and supporting various activities such as conferences, presentations, lounge events and technical обслуживания.
Special attention was given to achieving correct illuminance levels, minimizing glare, ensuring high color rendering and integrating lighting seamlessly into the architectural environment.
The Solution
A dynamic lighting system was developed based on Tunable White technology, allowing smooth adjustment of color temperature from 2700K to 6500K depending on the scenario and functional needs.
The concept combines general, accent and indirect lighting, structured around recommended illuminance levels and controlled through a DALI-based system.
This approach enables the space to transform between different modes — from bright conference lighting to soft lounge атмосфера — while maintaining visual consistency and user comfort across all zones.
Scope of Work
Lighting Design
A full lighting concept was developed for conference halls, lounge areas, corridors and service spaces, including illuminance simulations and visualisations.
Recommended lighting levels were defined for each zone:
- 400–500 lux for conference areas
- 200–300 lux for common spaces
- 75–100 lux for auxiliary areas
Technical Logic
The system is based on Tunable White lighting with adjustable temperature ranges:
- 6500K for technical and maintenance tasks
- 4000–4500K for work and conferences
- 3500K for balanced everyday use
- 2700K for lounge and атмосферні сценарії
High color rendering (CRI 90–95) and controlled glare (UGR ≤ 25) ensure комфортне сприйняття світла.
System Components
The project integrates:
- general ceiling lighting
- accent lighting fixtures
- indirect lighting elements (e.g. ceiling and architectural illumination)
All elements are designed to create a layered lighting structure that supports both functionality and spatial perception.
Control & Dimming
A DALI-based control system was implemented to enable flexible lighting scenarios and precise dimming.
Predefined scenarios include:
- Conference mode — full illumination at ~4000K
- Presentation / movie mode — reduced lighting (~25%) at 2700K
- Coffee break mode — full lighting for circulation
- Lounge mode — soft, accent-focused lighting
Additional integration with motion and daylight sensors improves energy efficiency and automatically maintains optimal lighting conditions.
Start of Development
Early-stage development focused on illuminance calculations, zoning logic and scenario planning, ensuring that lighting supports both functional requirements and the emotional experience of the space.
Special emphasis was placed on visual simulations and light distribution analysis to validate performance before implementation.
